Dionysos Oil

Called "The Twice Born", Dionysos is one of the most fascinating of the Greek Olympian gods. He was first born of his mother, Semele, who was tricked by Hera into asking Zeus to reveal his true face to her, causing the mortal woman to be burned to a cinder. The fetus that would become Dionysos survived, though, and Zeus sewed it into his own thigh, from whence Dionysos was born a second time. He is related to rebirth and reincarnation, initiation, dedication, and facing the fears that make us wild.
Dionysos is not only the god of wine, but also the god of enlightenment through intoxication. He is one part of the spirit that enlivens and edifies the witch on their journey toward self-knowing and sovereignty. He can lead us toward greater unity and power, or toward total madness...or maybe they are one and the same.
