Meet ABYZOU. A demon from European and Jewish lore, she is traditionally considered a child killer driven by jealousy to strangle new borns or babies in utero (she is said to be unable to have children of her own). I think this is BULL SHIT, because Abyzou seems to be derived from the androgynous, primordial sea of creation called Abzu in ancient Mesopotamia and Abyssos in ancient Greece, the sea from which all has issued, the primal womb. The flux and flow of life is her domain and, in this oil, represents and celebrates a woman's right to choose, body autonomy, and the deep, dark, primordial power of creation as well as breaking down gender norms and other myths of sexuality. Abyzou is said to hate her own reflection because of her "ugliness", but in this bottle are flakes of shattered mirror, symbolic of the destruction of false images projected on the feminine and the mold female-identifying people are suppose to fit, because FUCK. THAT. With the scents of rue and pennyroyal the patriarchy won't stand a chance!
